The Power of
Prayer
The
doctors had told him and his wife that their baby son would not live through the night and
would surely die before morning, there was nothing they could do about it. He loved his
baby boy very much and could not stand by and watch him die.
He went to where the Baha'is were
staying, he was hurt and angry over the threat of losing his son. The team leader said
"Please everybody, let's say healing prayers for this baby."
The team began to pray for the child. The
father was touched to his very heart, and shouted "I don't know who you people are,
and I don't know where you come from, but I know you are from God. I have been running
away from you all of my life, and now God you caught me, you caught me. I'm not running
anymore."
He got down on his knees and confessed
his sins from the day he was born, with tears running down his face. All of the
Baha'is in the house started singing prayers, which further increased the spiritual power
being generated.
The father
went home and in the morning as the team was getting into their cars to go out teaching,
the young man came running up shouting "Wait for me, wait for me, I'm going with you.
A miracle, a miracle, my son is alive and the doctors don't understand why. At about 3
a.m. this morning, my baby began to recover and the doctor said this was impossible, but I
know it was because I was here praying with you last night. I want to go with you to tell
everyone else about Baha'u'llah."
